Committee Duties and Goals

Alumni Committee 
Post information on the internet to locate graduates from the 1970s through the 2000s. Recruit parents to become active in the PTSO alumni committee.

By-Laws Committee 
Create, review and revise the PTSO By-Laws. The by-laws regulate the policies, procedures and govern the Rich South High School PTSO.

District 227 Board
PTSO representative attends the District 227 Board of Education meetings regularly and reports back to the PTSO body vital information.

Education Committee 
Create activities for the learning enhancement of Rich South High School students. Increase academic enrichment, assist the STAR Council, and with PSAE activities, PLAN Test, Explore Exam and other educational programs.

Fund-raising Committee 
Promote, organize and facilitate fundraising activities. Annual fundraisers activities included GFS Fun Funds, Talent Show, Pie Sale and Steppers Set. Work with the Boosters to assist with athletic fundraisers.

Grants 
Locate grants that would benefit Rich South High School to enhance the programs, athletic department, and academic environment, as well staff, student, and parent development. Secure grants for Rich South High School by applying for grants and submitting written proposals.

Planning Committee 
Coordinate and plan the yearly staff appreciation breakfast in May. Assist with the senior picnic, graduation rehearsal and graduation.

Public Relations Committee
Promote the Rich South PTSO by using the school web site. Represent the PTSO at the Parent Teacher Conferences, Open House, registration and athletic and community events.

Scholarship Committee 
Coordinate the process of accepting and screening senior applications. Distributing scholarships to Rich South graduating seniors. Present awards at the Awards Banquet.
